Quercus Consulting has been retained by Lake County, Illinois, to provide a full suite of sustainability management services. Our tasks include identifying outside funding opportunities, conducting energy audits, implementing a food scrap diversion program at the County Jail, and calculating the County’s carbon footprint. Under these tasks specific activities have also included examining the bird safety features of new facilities, developing a series of indoor air quality policies and procedures, and identifying strategies to reduce emissions in the County’s vehicle fleet. One of our major activities is developing a joint procurement vehicle for the County and interested communities to select qualified vendors for on-site solar power installations and community solar subscriptions. Watch a video the County created a video summary of some of the projects in the first year of our contract.
Our team includes an engineering firm, CCJM, to conduct the energy audits, and a non-profit, Seven Generations Ahead, which is leading the waste diversion program.
